Establishment history

The department was established when the school was founded in 1989 and was renamed as the Department of Materials Science and Engineering in 1989.

The purpose is to cultivate talents with materials research, material analysis, material processing, and material processing.

The main teaching goal is to cultivate talents required by the domestic cutting-edge materials industry and the application of the optoelectronic semiconductor industry.

The faculty of the department is strong, the teaching is lively and lively, and the curriculum design focuses on application and in line with the trend of the times.

  • July,1980
    The school was founded with a mechanical material engineering department and the second class of five-year freshmen was enrolled.
  • August,1989
    Added a two-year day team.
  • April,1990
    Attached to a two-year repair school.
  • August,1999
    Reorganized and renamed the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, and recruited two-year freshmen in the first class, stopped recruiting the second junior college, entered the repair school, stopped recruiting the second junior college, and added the second technical department.
  • August,2001
    The two-year system will have one additional class, and the five-year program will reduce one class.
  • August,2002
    A four-year enrollment class was added, and the enrollment of five specialties was suspended.

    The Institute of Materials Science and Green Energy was added.
  • August,2008
    The "Department of Materials Science and Engineering" and the "Institute of Materials Science and Green Energy" are integrated.
